We are currently looking for talented and motivated Graduate Transport Planner to join our busy Transport Planning team in either Edinburgh or Glasgow.  This role can be worked flexibly with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office and the option of adjusted start and finish times.

What does the role involve?     

At Sweco, we draw upon a combined knowledge base of 22,000 experts across Northern Europe. Working as part of the Scotland Transport Planning team, you'll support a wide variety of projects and be involved in a range of activities from bidding through to project delivery. This could include supporting with data analytics, transport and environmental assessments, feasibility studies, transport appraisal and economic assessments, multi-modal modelling, public consultation, stakeholder engagement, sustainable transport, intelligent mobility and other emerging technologies.

You will take ownership and responsibility for the quality of work you produce, ensuring that work is delivered in line with the agreed timescales and ensuring you understand and comply with our Company Integrated Management system and all relevant health and safety legislation.

You will learn from experienced people who share a passion for working together with our customers to deliver technical excellence and as you develop be given opportunity to work more independently.

As a graduate at Sweco you will be enrolled on the Graduate Scheme which will provide the opportunity to visit other UK offices, socialise with other Sweco Graduates and provide you with the soft-skills to succeed within your role and the wider business.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree Transport Planning/Studies, Civil Engineering, Geography, Maths or a related subject.
  • A strong interest in transport and the urban environment. 
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and are passionate to find a quick, innovative and practical solution.
  • The ability to communicate and work collaboratively to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues and clients and enjoy working in a team environment, sharing knowledge and demonstrate pride in work.
  • The ability to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure that project timescales are met. 
  • Good Microsoft Office skills including the ability to process and analyse data.
