Graduate/Assistant Geo-environmental/Geologist Engineer - Leeds
Due to a healthy forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint a Graduate/Assistant Geo-Environmental Engineer to join Leeds office team. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work in one of the UK's leading Civil, Structural & Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy's, working with governments,
businesses, Rail Cos, architects and planners and providing integrated solutions across many disciplines.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* The successful candidate will have the opportunity to further develop their technical and project management skills, including providing robust technical contaminated land assessment and solutions & customer service as part of a rapidly growing team across the north.
* The candidate must have a minimum of 1 years post grad experience in road and rail, industrial, residential, commercial and leisure developments, providing technically sound and cost effective solutions to Clients throughout.
* You will be required to undertake scoping and reviewing Preliminary Risk Assessments and Intrusive Ground investigations including understanding of currently available ground investigation, sampling and laboratory analysis techniques. An understanding of contaminated land legislation and planning regime to provide geo-environmental ground investigation scoping and generic risk assessment. A good understanding of geology, ground models and geotechnical engineering.
* Ability to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy, with awareness of structural & civil capabilities in the wider firm.
* Candidates would be expected to be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite, well-informed in respect to the most up to date contaminated land guidance and risk assessment tools. Good communicator, verbal and written, commercial awareness and strong team working/interpersonal skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE
* A relevant degree in Geology/Geo-environmental/Earth Sciences is essential.
