Granary Worker – Stracathro Grain Store

Simpsons Malt is a successful growth business and continues to invest significantly to meet its customers’ expectations in a sustainable manner. It has eight operational sites focussed on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

We are currently looking to recruit a Granary Worker to join the small team based at our Stracathro Grain Store in Angus. Stracathro is a small site with a positive working environment and it is important that the successful candidate is a committed team player.

This position would be based on working a typical 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday out-with harvest, and a typical 12 hour day-shift or night-shift during harvest, to include Saturdays and some Sundays. There may also be some limited overtime required out-with the harvest period.

The harvest generally lasts about 8 weeks. The position would be ideally suited to someone living locally.

Key Tasks:

• Operating driers, conveyors and elevators
• Driving loaders
• Forklift shunting
• Mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP)
• Filling and emptying sheds
• General granary duties
• General site cleanliness

• Good communication skills
• Granary experience (not essential as training will be given)
