Job description

A fantastic medical research charity has an exciting new opportunity for a Grants & Programmes Executive to join the team on a permanent basis.

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000

Location: Central London (hybrid working arrangements will be considered with a minimum of 2 days per week required in the London office)

As Grants & Programmes Executive, you’ll help manage the efficient running of the grants programme and provide administrative support to the Director of Research & Operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing relationships with key stakeholders, to ensure that the charity’s programme of research grants, training and education support the needs of the profession and that the views and needs of patients are considered.

  • Helping to ensure that the impact of the charity grants are communicated to relevant audiences and stakeholders, and that the website is updated with information about all programmes and grants.

  • Grants Administrative duties, including preparing and monitoring the annual calendar of grants, liaising with applicants, responding to queries, drafting award or rejection letters and monitor the new grants once awarded.

  • Attend meetings and conferences of professionals and nurses in this field, including regional meetings as necessary to highlight the charity’s role and programmes.

  • Supporting the Chief Executive and the Director or Research & Operations in the development of the Patient & Public Initiative (PPI) programme and in PPI activities for research.

The successful candidate will have a minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably within a research charity, be a strong team player with an engaging and cheerful interpersonal style and be a meticulous worker with strong attention to detail. Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally Raisers Edge/ETapestry or similar database including management and reporting is key.

It will suit an individual with an interest in science, research and who will be prepared to make a significant contribution to the success of the charity and the work that they do.
