Location: Remote working plus fortnightly travel to Manchester office (expensed)
Role
Climate17 are working alongside one of the UK's leading independent energy specialists, who are actively designing, building and operating a large portfolio of large-scale behind the meter Battery Energy Storage projects across the UK.
They are looking for a Grid Connections Engineer to join their growing BESS department to assist with the management of the connection process and help facilitate the successful delivery of BESS projects.
Responsibilities

• Managing the Grid connections process for Battery Storage projects.
• Reviewing connection offers and curtailment data.
• Tracking and organising connections payments, milestones, and securities across all BESS projects and managing cashflows for the portfolio.
• Foster coordination and direct engagement with key stakeholders such as National Grid,
• Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and Independent Distribution Network Operators (IDNOs) post connection offer acceptance.
• Managing projects through the Statement of Works process.
• Being responsible for keeping an up-to-date knowledge of the grid sector and reporting relevant progress and updates of the grid network for our projects to the wider team, including:
  • Monitoring the state of the grid network, providing regular reporting of grid reforms and progress of relevant network reinforcements.
  • Representing the company in industry-relevant events
• Be the Primary liaison with ICPs, DNOs, IDNOs and other stakeholders post connection offer acceptance, including instructing and coordinating tenders and novating connection offers.
