GROUND WORKER - ENVIRONMENT

SOUTHERN WATER FRAMEWORK

What you will be doing:

An opportunity has arisen for a Ground Worker to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.

You will work on our Southern Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Hampshire/West Sussex area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

This is a "hands on" position and we’re seeking individuals with experience in a similar position with relevant clean and wastewater experience.

Reporting to the Ganger on a day-to-day basis, you will be carrying carry out a range of civil engineering activities such as ground works, pipe and duct laying, placing and finishing of concrete and kerb laying and using a Cat & Genny to locate below ground services on site.

Part of your role will include liaising and co-ordinating with all Galliford Try functions to support the overall business objectives

Site security is paramount, in your role as Ground Worker, in conjunction with the site manager, you will appraise the security risk to all Galliford Try property under your control and install security levels appropriate to the relative value.

Our aim is to create and maintain an environment where care for our people and those who work with us is our top priority. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the commercial function within the business unit effectively supports the operational teams in the implementation of health & safety policies.

Due to the requirement to drive company vehicles and machinery/plant for this role, you must hold a current driving licence.

About You:

We’re looking for a keen individual who can work with flexibility, demonstrating the ability to perform a wide range of duties and support the team where necessary. Experience in a similar work environment or previous work within the construction industry is essential.

To be successful in this role. You’ll be an effective communicator, able to work well independently or as part of a team to achieve results. Safety is paramount, so a good understanding and awareness of health & safety is required. We’re looking for somebody with the ability to read construction drawings.

Working on site, we’d like you to have CSCS, CPCS, (Dumper/Roller/Excavator), CAT 4+ and Confined Space (Medium Risk). However, we will support you in covering any training needs. You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
