Grounds Assistant

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

ØGeneral preparation of sports areas to include rugby, cricket and soccer pitches.

ØMaintenance of grounds including grass, hedges, perimeter areas, landscaped areas, paths and driveways, including clearing of snow and ice from school paths and roads when required and collection of leaves and litter.

ØMaintenance of pavilions, including cleaning of changing rooms, showers, toilets, clearing of drains and gutters etc.

ØOperation of tools and equipment to include light tools e.g. knapsack sprayer, and tractor mounted equipment as necessary and appropriate.

ØErection/dismantling of sports equipment.

ØDriving motor vehicles, to operate tractor mounted equipment, to use power-driven tools and operate relevant plant and equipment.

ØPreparation of cricket squares, both grass and artificial, to meet the standards expected by the School.

ØEmptying of external litter bins.

Additional Duties:

ØThe driving of school vehicles (if suitably qualified); and

ØThe upkeep of a compost dump.

Other Duties

ØGeneral porterage duties;

ØSupport the staff in providing a safe learning environment.
