Join our client's team as a Grounds & Landscaping Supervisor, a vital role responsible for maintaining the high standards of their campus landscaping.

​This position involves direct supervision of operatives and management of an outsourced landscaping contractor.

Job Description

You will oversee the allocation and planning of all work duties, ensuring that both in-house and outsourced teams operate seamlessly.
This is a hands-on role, where you will actively participate in tasks to ensure that all landscaping activities are completed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of the outsourced provider and inhouse provision to meet the clients service level agreement
  • Ensure all works are scheduled, updated on works trackers with issues logged and tracked to completion
  • Prioritise workload and assist / direct colleagues to ensure individual and performance is maximised
  • Drive improvements in the campus landscaping through innovations and delivering upgrade projects.
  • Out of hours duties where necessary due to adverse weather conditions and the flexibility and dedication to act quickly and carry out duties such as winter road gritting and storm damage mitigation, to protect and maintain business continuity at site
  • Candidates will have knowledge of and commitment to adherence to clients environmental policy to minimise operational impact on the environment and will drive to enhance environmental initiatives on site
  • Communicate effectively at all levels with colleagues to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded and managed until resolution is achieved

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Able to demonstrate experience in the Horticultural industry
  • NVQ level 2-3 Amenity horticulture, or equivalent, preferable
  • PA1 and PA6 spray certificates, essential
  • Highly motivated and a good communicator
  • Basic I.T skills, preferable
  • A keen learner and horticulture enthusiast, must be willing to develop own skills
  • IOSH Managing Safely, preferred or willing to work towards
