About the role:

We are looking for a Ground Technician to join our Estates and Facilities department. As a Ground Technician you will play a pivotal role in the success of our college through:

  • Undertaking grounds maintenance duties across the Bedford College Group sites and ensure they are maintained to a high standard.
  • Undertaking proactive grounds maintenance duties to ensure that all college areas are kept safe, clean, tidy and welcoming.
  • Working alongside the Senior Grounds Technician to increase levels of biodiversity across all Bedford College Group sites.

About you:

  • Appropriate horticulture qualification at level 2 or equivalent.
  • Trained to operate horticultural, tractors, machinery and grass cutting equipment, both rotary and cylinder.
  • Trained to handle hedge cutting and strimming equipment.
  • Minimum of 2 years horticultural experience.
  • Experience of working within written procedures and guidelines.

About The Bedford College Group
The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
