Form of workALI Recruits is seeking an experienced Groundsman/Grounds Person to work as part of a multi-talented maintenance team at a prestigious independent day school in South West London.
This role involves working with various types of machinery and equipment to prepare and maintain football, rugby, cricket, athletics and hockey facilities, as well as artificial surfaces within the school's sports facilities department.
Reporting into the Head Gardener, this is a full time 40 hours per week/permanent role, working Monday - Friday, 7.30am - 4.30pm. Any extra weekend work is paid at an enhanced rate.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* An understanding of field markings, synthetic sports pitches/surfaces
* Experience of making minor machinery repairs
* Grounds budget, materials and equipment purchasing experience
* Knowledge of hiring specialist equipment and/or contractors when required
* An ability to assist with tree, hedge, leaf collection and path clearing to assist the Head Gardener/Estates Manager
* D1 License (desirable) to operate a tractor
