Groundworks Estimator job in Exeter, Devon for one of the UK's largest independently owned housebuilders. Offering a salary range of £60,000 - £70,000 + Car Allowance £8k - £9k + 25 days holiday. They are happy to consider both Quantity Surveyors and Estimators.

Our client has been established for 50 years, with 10 offices across the Midlands, East Anglia, South West and North West. They are a family-run developer that strives to deliver quality housing which is sympathetic to the individual area and community. They are number 1 for NHBC customer satisfaction at 8 and 9-week survey stages and currently delivering 4000 units per year across all regions. To be considered you will have strong experience in groundworks / civils estimation for a housebuilder or contractor. The role will be 90% pre-contract estimation and the rest post contract, supporting their annual unit delivery of 125, they are aiming to increase this to 500 in the next 5 years.

Role & Responsibilities

- Pre-contract tender analysis and management

- Detailed breakdown of build costs

- Carrying out drawing take-offs and producing labour only rates

- Issue variation instructions and contra charges as appropriate

- CVRs

- Liaise with HAs

- Attend meetings with and regularly liaise with Land and Technical, Planning and Engineering teams

- Liaise with Regional Land, Planning and Engineering teams to ensure the preparation of Future Developments and execute enabling works

- Value Engineering

- Site visits with contractors

- Future planning for new developments and detail provisions and estimates for packages

- Assist with Adoptions

- Oversee the procurement process of Groundwork and Infrastructure together with other team members

- Sub-Contractor payments

- Liaise with H&S Manager to ensure the correct packages are selected

- Registering sites for Hazardous Waste Premise Code and CLAIRE

- Viability analysis Assisting and assistant in the management of the cost database.

Required Skills & Experience

- Must have 4+ Years' experience as a Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

- Experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor for a housebuilder or contractor is essential

- Educated to a Higher National Certificate/Higher National Diploma level standard or equivalent, relevant construction degree

- Proficient in Excel / Microsoft Office

- UK Driving Licence.
