SalaryMy clients who are a leading Defence technical manufacturing business are currently recruiting for a direct Category Manager / Commodity Manager based in Stevenage (hybrid working) to join on a permanent basis.
Please note all applicants must be eligible to gain UK Security Clearance (SC Level).
Role - Group Commodity Manager / Category Manager - Directs
Location - Stevenage
Type - Permanent position
Salary - Competitive (DOE) + bonus
Key responsibilities of the Group Commodity Manager / Category Manager - Directs role and not be limited to:
- To manage a multifunctional team in the sourcing and management of suppliers within the designated categories, undertaking strategic development, competitions, contract management, and supplier relations management with the aim of supporting innovation and ensuring supply chain performance (On Time, On Cost, On Quality)
- Working as a business partner with your internal stakeholders to improve business outcomes
- Managing suppliers' market risk and opportunities to support the business technology roadmap and production plan
- The development and implementation of contracts and Frame Agreements
- Ultimately responsible for the supplier relationships, working with the supply chain virtual category teams to deliver innovative and best-in-class suppliers to the Business
- Accountable for the supplier performance, principally around cost, quality, and delivery
- Intelligently developing and deploying a range of sourcing strategies in cooperation with internal stakeholders
Key skills and experience required for Group Commodity Manager / Category Manager role and not limited to:
- Proven experience within a strategic sourcing role, category/commodity management
- Able to demonstrate a significant level of depth and breadth in strategic procurement and operational experience
- Manufacturing background is preferred
- A very goal-orientated individual with strong cultural awareness, and excellent team building capabilities who is capable of making key strategic decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
