Group Leader - Asset Operations
The Group LeaderAsset Operations is the business partner representing Estates and Liabilities in AWE s production and science capabilities. They ensure asset availability to support programme requirements and compliance with the facility safety case/risk assessments. A senior leader in the business, the GLAO line manages a group of facility managers in addition to task management of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, quality, and Environment Safety & Health professionals to optimise total cost of ownership of the infrastructure they support. As AWE embarks on an ambitious new programme of capital investments to support our next generation of nuclear capabilities, the GLAO is required to set the vision for facility operations of the future that delivers transformational change.
Location - Reading/Basingstoke area
Salary - £Negotiable

Key Accountabilities of the role:

  • Estates & Liabilities Business Partner to ensure availability of services across the functions to ensure Strategic and Tactical requirements of Assets within your Estate Area and are available to meet the agreed demands of the Estate Area/ Technology Centre.
  • Ensures the resourcing and funding is in place to maintain facility Safety Case/Risk Assessments for the Facilities within your Estate Area, ensuring proportionality of processes is applied.
  • Setting direction and developing a shared understanding of individuals roles in delivering the AWE vision and strategy.
  • Owner and management of the Asset Management Plan for your Estate area to enable successful service delivery and asset performance with optimised total cost of capability ownership.
  • Enabling the performance and results of the team. Making sure that team members have the capabilities to get the work done now and in the future.
  • Accountable for leading, coaching & developing a team of leaders and influencing others at specialism or functional level to create & deliver operational plans.

AWE is seeking individuals with the following skills and attributes -
  • Achieving successful enablement of teams in an environment representative of UK industrial/commercial business which has concurrent multiple high value investment projects, critical operational activities, and transformation projects.
  • Extensive facility and/or process management experience.
  • Managing within a highly regulated environment.
  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
