Our client is a D2C subscription business in the pet space. They have a passionate and loyal customer base of 34,000 active customers and are currently turning over £30m. The business is well backed and going on an exciting journey. They’re now seeking to appoint a Growth Director: a key role in realising the business’ aspirations.
The Growth Director will be accountable for most of the business’ £5m marketing budget and will lead a high-performing, commercially focussed team. The role is accountable for all acquisition channels; has ownership of the website’s performance; and will lead on all CRM activity, including winback, abandoned cart etc. There will also be opportunities to work with distribution partners.
Candidates will be assessed against the following competencies:
Essential:
- A track record owning and successfully delivering a similar growth journey in another D2C organisation. This could either be: accelerating existing growth; or re-igniting a slowing business.
- Experience with full ownership of a multi-channel marketing strategy; and the ability to evidence excellent ROI from marketing spend.
- Confident in data and attribution, highly detail oriented. Obsessed with optimising commercial performance.
- An autonomous strategic thinker that’s action oriented and happy to execute. Comfortable working at fast pace in a non-hierarchical and collaborative organisation. Able to lead a cross-functional team.
Desirable:
- A track record in subscription businesses.
- Experience working with retail distribution partners.
The role will be based in Edinburgh, ideally 2 days per week.
