Job Introduction
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join the Funding, Business and Enterprise Team, to manage the Growth Hub in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire.
Our Growth Hub team oversees a broad range of activities, and you'll be responsible for ensuring that advice and guidance is provided to businesses and partners organisations with the intent to signpost and refer businesses to events, workshops, and programmes of business support.
You'll work closely with business support colleagues in Staffordshire County Council and Stoke on Trent City Council and other organisations across the business support network.
Main Responsibility
You’ll play a key role in:
- developing business support that is proactive to help businesses develop growth strategies
- identifying and pursuing alternative funding sources and ensuring support is available when needed.
- the production of reports and plans required by government funders that will support the delivery of economic development for Staffordshire
- overseeing the management and development of externally funded business support projects, ensuring programme criteria and procedures are followed to guarantee successful project completion.
The Ideal Candidate
With previous experience of working in business support, economic development and of partnership working, you'll also have:
- a high level of understanding of the challenges faced by businesses in Stoke on Trent and Staffordshire
- an in depth knowledge of the local business support landscape and experience of having worked at an operational manager level.
- They must be prepared to be an advocate and champion of Staffordshire businesses and to take steps to fill identified gaps in business support following local or national policy changes.
You'll be based at Staffordshire Place but we also offer smart flexible working which includes home working.
