The Role:

Collaborating within a team-oriented setting, your role will encompass a variety of products. Your responsibilities will entail comprehending lay-up drawings and applying your laminating expertise to execute tasks according to the specified lay-up requirements. Furthermore, your proficiency will be essential in identifying and addressing any discrepancies or alterations encountered during specific job assignments.

In response to workload fluctuations within the respective departments, you may also be called upon to flexibly transition between Composites and GRP sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Preparing Molds in readiness for gel application
• Comprehending and following lay-up specifications.
• Applying gel coat as required.
• Executing various laminating processes, such as wet-lay, infusion, vac-bagging, pre-preg, or RTM.
• Employing hand tools effectively.
• Identifying and rectifying laminating defects.
• Utilising core materials and generic bonding pastes appropriately.
• Releasing simple molds when necessary.
• Managing patterns and jigs proficiently.
• Employing a wide range of fabrics, CSM (Chopped Strand Mat), and cloths in both dry and pre-preg formats.
• Undertaking basic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
• Logging daily work hours accurately on the timesheet.
• Adhering to proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
• Taking ownership and responsibility for your own work tasks.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

• Diligent focus on precision and a systematic approach to tasks.
• Strong team collaboration skills and outstanding communication abilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GRP laminating and its related processes, encompassing tasks like trimming and grinding.
• Proficiency in quality control procedures.
• Preferably, a minimum of 2 years' experience acquired in quality-focused industries such as Marine, Aerospace, Automotive, or similar sectors.
