Role Responsibilities:
As a Hardware Engineer, you will:
- Develop electronics hardware for innovative sensor solutions and technology assets.
- Validate new sensor hardware solutions, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Maintain awareness of project goals and timescales for hardware development in various programs.
- Create reference designs for sensor application solutions.
- Develop test interface adapters, evaluation kit hardware, and sensor electronics modules.
- Contribute to crafting hardware for automated in-house test systems.
- Participate in feasibility analysis, presenting hardware solutions with options and trade-offs.
- Provide realistic task duration estimates for schedule and milestone planning.
- Capture, analyse, and document hardware requirements.
- Handle schematic capture, PCB layout, and coordinate outsourced manufacturing.
- Perform the bring-up, programming, debugging, and verification of Hardware Designs.
- Occasionally, build and test product evaluation kits.
- Create custom cable assemblies.
- Procure PCBAs and electronic components, managing hardware stock information.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential Skills and Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science.
- Proven ability to validate new sensor hardware solutions, ensuring high-quality standards.
- Skills in schematic capture, PCB layout, and coordination of outsourced manufacturing.
- Deep knowledge and experience in mixed-signal circuit design.
- Proficiency with standard microcontrollers, analog signal conditioning, power management, and serial interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI, CAN, JTAG, one-wire).
- Familiarity with ESD protection, mechanical features, and KiCAD.
Desirable Skills/Knowledge:
- Programming experience in languages like C.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers such as ST STM32 family (ARM Cortex-M0).
- Experience with sensor design and firmware modification using an SDK.
