Job description

Job title:Hardware Development Engineer

Location: Warton– We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £45,326 – £49,834 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and integrating Typhoon aircrew training devices
  • Testing and installing training devices, modifying, and upgrading existing training devices
  • Designing systems and subsystems using hardware such as computing servers and networking equipment
  • Creating design specifications and acceptance test manuals
  • Identifying necessary facilities for customer sites
  • Integrating training device sub-systems and computing/visual systems
  • Conducting electrical product safety testing
  • Participating in acceptance testing with customers
  • Collaborating with internal and external suppliers
  • Producing engineering drawings and technical documentation

Your skills and experiences:

  • Experience in product electrical testing
  • Knowledge of synthetic training systems
  • Understanding of configuration management
  • Understanding of requirements management
  • Knowledge of Product Safety CE & UKCA marking and LV directive compliance
  • Willing to travel to UK, the Middle East customer sites

The Air Service Aircrew Training & Simulation Solutions (ATSS) team:

The Air Service Aircrew Training & Simulation Solutions (ATSS) team is responsible for the development and delivery of customer Typhoon training devices (Simulators). These customers include the Royal Air Force (RAF) and the expanding Typhoon export market which currently includes Saudi Arabia, Oman and Qatar with the potential to include a number of other customers worldwide. This is an excellent and exciting opportunity for you to be involved in the early stages of the engineering lifecycle, through to device delivery and product acceptance by the customer.
