We are looking to appoint an inspirational and experienced HE Lead and Equine Science lecturer, predominantly to teach on our higher education courses and oversea the running of the courses both in animal and Equine. We run a BSc in Equine Science, a Foundation Degree and BSc top up in Animal Therapy and Rehabilitation in partnership with Oxford Brookes University. The partnership has an excellent track record for producing successful graduates with a high percentage of first-class honours degrees that progress on to impressive industry careers or to level 7 education.

You must be very well organised, be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders and have the ability to compile key documents needed for university review and validation purposes. You will need to be able to plan, chair and minute meetings effectively with education professionals and ensure that students views, and feedback are acted upon in a timely manner to improve their learning experiences.
There will be some teaching at levels 2 and 3 to horse care and management students at our Common Leys Farm Campus. Knowledge and experience in delivering on modules such as equine genetics, nutrition, exercise physiology, equestrian land management, injury, and rehabilitation will be of benefit.
You should be qualified to a minimum of BSc level, but MSc level would be preferable in an equine related subject and have previous teaching experience in further or higher education. A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential, but you must be willing to study towards this on your appointment. The successful candidate will be passionate and skilled in preparing young people and adults for work in the sector.
