Job description

The role Manage the Strength and Conditioning programme to Performance Sports at the University of Bristol, a sector leading S&C programme. Using sound scientific understanding yet applied experience, the role is responsible for setting, implementing, and manging the delivery of the Physical Preparation Framework at the University in order improve performance and produce World Class Athletes.  What will you be doing? Acting as the divisional point of contact in relation to all matters regarding physical preparation, you will provide direction on scientific underpinning to all training methods and processes. You will work with the Performance Manager, Performance Pathway Manager, 6 Full Time coaches, 3 Coordinator coaches and approximately 10 Part Time coaches, to ensure a scientifically underpinned yet logistically deliverable programme for 15 clubs to achieve the division’s strategic aim. The role will manage a programme which will engage circa 15,000 student attendances each academic year. In addition, the role will coach 2-4 clubs, twice a week and responsible for these team’s physical preparation. The role is for 3 days per week, with term time hours being Monday afternoon to evening, Friday afternoon to evening and flexibility with the 3rd day. Out of term, the role’s hours will be agreed inline with the desired work pattern, but will be inline with normal working hours. The role is fixed term for 2 years.
