The position of Head Gardener has become available at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
The Head Gardener is responsible for the day-to-day horticultural tasks on the London 2012 gardens and parklands within the boundary of the Olympic Park.
Key to this role is managing and leading a small team as well as maintaining good client relationships.
The successful applicant will work in a professional and productive manner, exceeding expectations of this high-profile client and the Contract Manager.
Planning and organising work schedules to meet contractual obligations is an important part of the job, as is complying with health and safety regulations and company policies.
The post would suit a ‘hands-on’ Head Gardener who is experienced in botanical horticulture.
Candidates must have a solid grounding in a horticultural environment as well as a proven ability to prioritise workloads.
Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is modern, vibrant and multi-cultural. As such, candidates should be familiar with contemporary urban spaces and be able to demonstrate design experience.
One of the aims of this position is to concentrate on improving the horticultural areas of the park, working with designers and clients while also overseeing the work of volunteers.
