A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our two vet practice in Warrington, working alongside our 2 Vets.

This role is Maternity cover starting April 2024.

Our busy and well-established practice will suit someone who is passionate about exceptional patient and client care. The practice offers a high level of service to our patients and has access to our newly refurbished 24 hour hospital in Alder which hosts Liverpool’s Veterinary Emergency Service and provides a dedicated out-of-hours service to many other local Medivet and external practices.

The practice has its own on-site laboratory and a range of facilities such as endoscopy, ultrasound and digital X-ray.

Your average day will include a variety of nursing duties as well as assisting with clinical coaching within the practice. Full support will be provided as you will work closely within our experienced team.

We are looking for an experienced RVN who shares our passion for delivering outstanding service and care for our clients and patients. You may have previous experience leading a team or you’re ready to take the next step into a Head Nurse position. You will have a friendly and positive attitude and want to progress and expand your knowledge and skills further. This role is 40 hours per week working 1:4 Saturday’s

Role accountabilities

In this role you will:

  • Provide first class clinical care.
  • Provide exceptional client care giving clear updates on patients, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Observe the highest standards of regulatory and practice compliance.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for clients, ensuring payment and minimising debt.
  • Maximise capacity through the most effective utilisation of clinical skills.
  • Support and carry out colleague clinical mentoring/development.
  • Pro-actively support and share clinical best practice within and across clinics and the wider Medivet community.
  • Monitoring in-patients, providing care and appropriate diets.
  • Assisting vets during examinations and surgeries ensuring the correct procedures are followed for the cleaning and sterilising of instruments, equipment and materials.

Your skills and experience

  • RCVS registered.
  • Small animal practice experience.
  • A client-oriented approach, with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience of working to the highest medical standards.
  • Experience of working with a team to develop a practice.
  • Experience of building trusting relationships with colleagues, and working effectively as part of a team.
  • A great communicator, you will be an outstanding and positive example to others.
