About the Role

Base Location: Flexible, however our preference is that you will be based in one of our key UK or Ireland sites, which includes but is not limited to:- Reading, Havant, Glasgow and Perth

Salary: £74,600 - £112,000 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The Head of Architecture for Corporate Services, IT M&A role is accountable for the IT strategy and architecture development of Corporate Services systems to meet Business and IT requirements. They are also responsible and accountable for the direction, management and development of a team of architects. The role holder will ensure their teams work with Delivery and Business Functions to realise value, deliverables and operations, aligning to business prioritised Product Roadmaps, Security guidance & SSE Group policies.

- Architecture design authority spanning portfolios of £20m plus.

- Leading the alignment of group and technology strategy across group corporate services and international corporate service domains. This should include extensive experience of ERP platforms, ideally Oracle, including work and asset management, supply chain, HCM and Financials.

- Contribute to the IT Leadership Team improving the capability & effectiveness of IT within Corporate Services and IT Mergers and Acquisitions areas. Create a high performing team.

- Lead the evolution and adoption of emerging technology approaches for application, integration, cloud and data.

- Lead the architecture development and support the transition of Group services to cloud. Define a target architecture for Group expansion and M&A activity.

- Realise the Business and IT objectives and key results as defined in the programme and the relevant product roadmaps.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Considerable previous experience managing and developing teams with motivational leadership ability.

- Significant experience of relevant hands-on design and implementation experience in IT, and specific knowledge of some of the following: ERP, Business and IT Strategic Planning, Cloud Services, IT Operations, Application Development.

- Excellent interpersonal skills such as teamwork, negotiation and facilitation. You will also have excellent communication skills as well as analytical and technical skills too.

- Ideally you would have worked in a technically/organisationally complex environment as well as an environment that is undergoing change.

- You should have in depth understanding of IT products, services, systems and solutions.
