Head of Biology
The Governors seek to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic teacher to lead and manage the above curriculum area. The successful candidate must be able to motivate and work well with pupils and staff and demonstrate the commitment and ability to enhance the curriculum area within the school. This post to be paid at the second level of teaching allowance.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Teacher, registered with the GTCNI and recognised by the Department of Education to teach at second level;
- Honours Degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent in the required subject(s) or Bachelor of Education Degree with the required subject(s) as the main component;
- Five years’ experience in teaching Biology at second level which should have included the teaching of a full GCSE programme and two years’ experience teaching the subject to A-level or equivalent.
The Board of Governors seek to appoint individuals who are able and willing to contribute to the Catholic ethos of the College and who will enrich the experiences of the pupils through participation in extra-curricular activities.
