As Head of Catering you are responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of our Catering Outlets based in Colne. Ensuring that all services are delivered to a high standard and that customer satisfaction is maximised. You will work closely with the General Manager and Head of Commercial Catering. The job involves a wide range of responsibilities, from managing staff and overseeing the budget, to ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Management: Hire, train, and manage the performance of staff. Ensure staffing levels are maintained to provide optimal customer service levels while controlling labour costs.
• Customer Experience: Oversee all aspects of the customer journey, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Resolve any customer issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
• Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of the catering departments, ensuring that all areas are running smoothly and efficiently. Lead and direct the daily operations of the catering departments to achieve optimal performance in terms of revenue, service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Budget and Financial Management: Collaborate with senior management to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement strategies to optimise profitability and achieve financial targets.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure that the catering departments comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including health and safety standards. Conduct regular audits and implement necessary changes. Ensure adherence to company standards, policies and procedures.
• Strategic Planning: Work with senior management to develop service quality, increasing revenue, and enhancing the overall customer experience. Prepare reports on operational performance, financial results and other relevant metrics for management review.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Several years of experience in the hospitality industry, with a progression to management roles.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and people management skills to inspire and direct a diverse team.
• Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills and a customer-oriented mind-set.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with guests, staff, and external partners.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly assess and resolve issues to maintain operations and guest satisfaction.
• Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and multitasking skills to handle the various aspects of the operation efficiently.
