Head of Chaplaincy based in the North

Permanent - Full Time - 37 hours per week.

Based at home. This role includes a £7,000 car allowance.

About the roles

As a Head of Chaplaincy you will be responsible for developing, supporting and promoting the chaplaincy service within MHA; increasing understanding and support of MHA more widely amongst faith communities and others; and assisting in ensuring that MHA values are known and upheld throughout the organisation. Working closely with the Director of Chaplaincy & Spirituality, you will ensure that we share best practice both internally and to external bodies including local churches and faith communities. There will be opportunities to support and develop research into spiritual care and later life; and to have a role in the implementation of the specialist strategies: dementia, music, spirituality, end of life care & greencare.

About you

MHA is an independent charity but still has close and valued connections with the Methodist Church. To this end it is highly desirable that at least one of the successful applicants has strong existing connections with the Methodist Church.

You will be an experienced chaplain with a passion for excellent spiritual care and an interest in the spiritual care of those in later life. You will be a confident communicator, able to address large audiences, as well as having the necessary interpersonal skills to provide 1 to 1 support. You will have excellent leadership skills and the necessary experience to line manage, support and enthuse six area support chaplains as part of the remote team.
