Job Title:Head of CommercialLocation: Scotstoun, we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.Salary: Competitive + Executive Benefits PackageWhat you'll be doing:
    Providing leadership and strategic direction of all contract and commercial activities on the delivery of 8 Type 26 Frigates for the Royal Navy.Driving the delivery of the Risk and Opportunity management to ensure suitable financial returns for the programme.Supporting the development of the Commercial functional discipline into other programme functions to build commercial awareness across the businessManagement of customer and selective supplier relationships and escalations of issues, bring swift conclusion and resolution to disputes and sentencing of queries.Delivering effective change management, obligation mapping and execution of out of Contract requests through Sea Trials and to Vessel AcceptanceDOA (Delegation of Authority) for Commercial Director at key Type 26 programme and customer reviews as applicable, ensuring a seamless continual engagement of leadership & management aspects across commercial and estimating
Your skills and experiences:Essential skills:
    Experience of large-scale complex engineering and/or production programmesExperience of MOD programmes and SSRO/Single Source QDC/QSC contracting (or equivalent in other Government departments or nations)Proven Commercial acumen built up from exemplary project management, strong negotiation, market understanding and contractingAbility to identify and articulate sound commercial propositions, balancing risk and opportunity, to meet customer and business needsBroad understanding of complex financial and contractual mechanismsLegal awareness in relation to management of Export, Intellectual Property, licensing and out of scope contract changes
Desirable skills:
    Knowledge of sub-contracting and dissemination of contractual obligationsProven experience of negotiation large value claims and settlement agreementsPreferably qualified to degree level
