Package: Permanent. 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension with 2x matched employer contributions up to 14%, private healthcare, training and development opportunities, wellbeing support, life assurance, interest free season tickets and more.

Are you ready to dive into an incredible opportunity at one of the UK’s most well-known and trusted charities? The Royal British Legion is seeking a Head of Public Relations who's not just experienced but is a dynamic storyteller, someone who lives and breathes communication. If you're passionate about engaging with celebrities, collaborating with royals, and telling the world remarkable stories of service and sacrifice, this is your stage!

At the Royal British Legion, you'll spearhead communications for captivating and unique events like our Poppy Appeal and D-Day commemorations while taking the leadership of our press office. From publicising major milestones to managing high-stakes moments, your role as Head of Public Relations will be about crafting impactful narratives that resonate deeply, ensuring our stories captivate the nation and the world.

Come and be part of the biggest Armed Forces charity, making a difference to the lives of those who have served to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

Your mission? Lead a team of passionate PR professionals, driving strategies to elevate our reputation and presence. You'll be the maestro orchestrating media campaigns, press calls, and launches, ensuring our message resonates consistently and powerfully.

Your role is pivotal in safeguarding our reputation and managing crisis communications. You will skilfully leverage your expertise to navigate external factors, steering our messaging with finesse through the news agenda and industry trends. Your talent for building and nurturing relationships will see you working hand-in-hand with major media organisations and stakeholders, ensuring the Royal British Legion’s voice echoes far and wide.

With budget management, stakeholder relations, and team leadership as your forte, you'll craft and execute PR strategy in alignment with our organisational objectives. If you're ready to make a difference, to be the driving force behind impactful storytelling, join us on this extraordinary journey

Here at RBL, we aim to support our people and their wellbeing, with a package including generous paid holiday allowance and pension scheme contributions, and a range of optional benefits and discounts.

Your contractual place of work will be our London Hub, Haig House. Under our Future Working framework, there will be some flexibility for working remotely/at home, using our collaboration tools to work with colleagues, but with a minimum expectation of two days/week connecting directly face-to-face with colleagues at the hub.

For more detailed information about the role, please see our Vacancy Information Pack attached to our direct advert.

RBL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation, reflecting the diversity of the armed forces community and of wider society. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and personal characteristics.

We may close this vacancy early if we believe we have enough strong applications to be able to successfully fill the role(s). Interested candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
