Head of Corporate Communications& External Affairs
Up to £70,300 per annum
If you’re a seasoned comms professional looking for your next challenge, then consider this. Telford & Wrekin Council is looking for a new Head of Corporate Communications.
This mighty unitary council in the heart of England won MJ Local Authority of the Year in 2022, so you’ll be in good company, with like-minded people who strive to protect, care and invest to create a better borough.
We’re a place full of history, home to Ironbridge Gorge - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’re bucking the trend in high street decline, have 6 Green Flag parks and some of the best roads in the West Midlands. Not only this, our children’s services have been judged as ‘outstanding’. There’s lots to celebrate here.
As a council, we’re determined to keep making a difference for all of our communities and great comms is at the heart of this.
From big ticket place marketing to drive inward investment to hyperlocal comms showcasing neighbourhood improvements that matter to people, you’ll never be bored.
Working alongside the Leader of the Council, Cabinet and Senior Management Team, you’ll lead a team of truly brilliant comms professionals across reputation management, campaigns, event promotion, public affairs and internal comms.
We set the bar high with our comms. We’ve got drive and creativity by the bucketful. We’re digital at heart but know the power of a simple letter, we’re willing to take risks and try new things. We’re a comms agency within the council.
Add a flexible working policy into the mix, to help you balance work and home life, and you might just have found your dream job.
