JOB TITLE: Head of Data Strategy & Enablement
SALARY: £109,285 - £128,570
LOCATION: Edinburgh or Leeds
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites
About this opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Data leader to join the IP&I Data & Analytics Office. As a Head of Data your responsibilities will be designing and driving high quality data initiatives, drawing upon your technical expertise, whilst being open minded and leverage the opportunities the cloud provides. Here’s where you’ll make the difference:
  • Lead the Data Strategy & Enablement teams in designing, developing and implementing the IP&I Data Strategy and building the Data Culture & Capability.
  • Establish Centres of Excellence and enforce best practices, standards, and methodologies for Data Management and Data Privacy & Records Management ensuring alignment with our business goals and IP&I’s Data Strategy.
  • Lead the build of IP&I Data talent pipelines to enable the delivery of IP&I ambitious strategy.
  • You love working in ambiguity, are a self-starter and able to scope out and help deliver transformation initiatives, in a structured, logical way.
  • You're an innovative problem solver; and will use your own experience and your wider network to bring in external perspectives and new insights to influence our work.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of the Data team, developing their skills and career growth.
  • Being a team player who can build relationships and collaborate productively with other teams across IP&I and the Group.
  • Champion culture of inclusivity and diversity

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience in managing, developing and driving Data Strategy, Data Culture & Capability, Data Management and Data Privacy & Records Management teams.
  • Hands-on proven experience of delivering strategic Data strategy design, aligning to business goals.
  • Experience of championing and driving forward the Strategic Workforce Plan through Data Culture and Capability uplift.
  • Experience of Cloud solutions and an awareness of new and emerging tools and technologies.
  • Strong leadership, management, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower the Data team.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and story-telling skills.
  • Insurance, Pensions & Investments product and technical data knowledge.
  • Experience of hiring, recognising and developing talent.
