Job description

Our client, a global Tech & Science Strategy Group focused on AI, are looking to recruit a Head of Commercial (Delegate & Sponsorship Sales) to join their growing business. Working on a hybrid basis (remote initially, but expected to be 2/3 days a week in a Central London location by the second half of the year), this is an incredible opportunity for the right candidate!
Our client's mission is to ensure that AI and emerging technology is inclusive, equitable and safe. They bring together the global AI ecosystem (from Enterprise/Big Tech to Start-ups and Investors) and are the world's most active AI community with over 250,000 members. As a business, they have 20+ years' experience in technology and large-scale festival-style summits/events, and are firmly at the forefront of AI innovation. Due to their sustained success/growth, they are now looking to add a number of new faces to the team, including the perfect candidate to lead their Delegate/Sponsorship Sales operation. In a nutshell, your responsibilities will include:
- Recruiting and developing a high-calibre/energy sales team
- Defining and embedding a successful sales process/strategy
- Ensuring the team consistently meet/exceed sales event targets
- Managing weekly/monthly sales reporting/forecasting
- Direct line management for an initial team of 5, to scale exponentially throughout the course of the next 6-12 months
- Driving visible pipeline activity and growth by creating a high-activity sales environment
- Leading from the front and pitch c-level executives, when required
- Contributing to the wider management team, in order to take the business forward
In order to be considered for this position, it is ESSENTIAL that you have the following:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience of leading an Event Sales team
- Ability to identify/nurture/develop sales talent
- Proven track record in leading an Event Sales team to exceed sales target(s)
- Fantastic communication skills
- Genuine desire to earn fantastic money (AMAZING commission scheme!)
- Fun, sociable personality
In addition to a competitive basic salary, our client are also offering the following:
- Phenomenal commission structure (uncapped, however an £180,000 Year One OTE - based on very achievable targets)
