An exciting opportunity to join a leading business as a Head of Development within a space that are genuinely doing good - they are on a mission to serve an underserved area of society making their customers lives more ahhhh through a human-centric approach to lending…helping provide people with equal opportunity in the FinTech space.

This role will be pivotal to the business - you will work directly with the Directors to shape the technical direction of the business. Shaping the existing technical team of 6, development processes and the architecture. As a Head of Development, you will be 50/50 split between hands off and hands on. You will be required to be proactive in this role - knowing how to balance your time effectively between development and nurturing the existing development team and their processes.

Having recently undergone a large re-architecture moving to the latest microservices, now is an exciting time to join the team as they look to build exciting new products. You will assist in driving the company's vision and change and supporting a very underserved segment in its marketplace.

The role:

Your day to day will be split between core development of systems and new products, line management, building new features and setting standards within the team and delivery. They are currently utilising a microservices architecture - they utilise Python, Django, React and ideally you will have developed within all of these technologies however if you lean either backend or frontend, that is fine. You will have a strong knowledge of AWS - how this works and how this fits into the existing landscape.

This role is crucial as you will be offering adhoc advice and support to the company - making the technical decisions and evaluating as you go. You will have a thirst for knowledge and a passion for continual improvement. You will get the opportunity to make a big impact and get involved with multiple aspects of the business. They are looking to begin to build brand new products that you will get the opportunity to be involved in from day 1 - they are cutting-edge in their market and are now looking to automate some further processes in their market utilising their products!
