About the Role
In this role you will lead the Editorial and product delivery function of about forty people for the UK education team to deliver high-impact, quality digital and print content on time and on budget. You will develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and help transform the way we develop our content to enable us to meet our strategic goals and priorities.
You will lead a passionate, best-in-industry Editorial and programme management team, maintaining and building excellent editorial skills, market knowledge and application of the Oxford University Press learning design principles, and create an energetic culture that embraces content transformation initiative.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Continually identify and develop more effective ways of working, and establish excellent relationships with Product, Design, and Digital functions by fostering a ‘one team’ mentality
- Drive down costs of content creation through working with central procurement teams to develop a supplier strategy
- Implement AI tools and systems and other technologies to improve efficiency
- Ensure product data is entered onto internal systems in an accurate and timely way
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
You will have the ability to connect, communicate & inspire, be action and Delivery oriented and committed with a calm and positive ‘can do’/’problem-solving’ attitude. We are looking for an innovator with an openness and adaptability to change, who is a highly organised multi-tasker and an innovative and creative thinker.
You will bring to the role:
- A demonstrable track record of managing and delivering large and complex projects and programmes.
- Extensive Editorial and project management experience gained in educational publishing and across print and digital.
- Proven team leadership, line management, negotiating, and influencing skills, with strong financial management skills.
- Detailed knowledge of UK Schools Publishing and formal project management training is desirable.
