Work part-time for a London based Charity as a Head of Engagement

Purpose

This is a newly established fixed term role in a upstart charitable organisation. The purpose of the new Head of Engagement is to stimulate a step-change in the diagnosis of the charities focus medical condition and provision of treatment across the UK. The main focus of the role is therefore on those in organisations that have the capacity to effect change: policy-makers, clinicians, and researchers in the various public sector organisations allied to and within the NHS, including NICE, and with medical, professional, women's and research and educational institutions.

What you will be doing

• Develop, deliver an agreed communications strategy, and action plan geared to improving provision for the charities focused medical condition in the UK.
• Content Creation: Create compelling written and visual content to inform and educate NICE, but additionally government bodies, medical professionals, and the public about the charities focus and best practice treatment.
• Strategic Partnerships: Develop and implement a partnership strategy to engage and collaborate with government agencies, women's health organisations, medical research institutions and medical institutions, to raise awareness about the charities focus to advocate for improved health-care services.
• Advocacy and Policy Influence: Advocate for policy changes and health-care improvements by engaging with, and by engineering opportunities for the trustees and volunteers to engage with, influential stakeholders within partner organisations, governments, and medical institutions.
• Media Relations: Cultivate relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure coverage and feature stories related to charities focus.

Experience required to be considered

• Must have experience other than direct health-care or service management.
• Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred) in science communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field OR a degree in nursing or other allied medical discipline.
• Proven experience in communications, public relations, or outreach, preferably in a non-profit or health-care setting.
• A familiarity with UK Health-care professional and NHS networks, ideally both nationally and regionally.
