A manufacturing, highly innovative brand have a new opportunity for a Head of Engineeringto join their team.The company has created a number of new senior appointments to direct and develop its teams at a time of exponential growth.The Head of Engineering is a vital role and will lead individual teams across technical engineering, new product development, projects and product engineering in a high-performance, quality-focused culture.You will be a highly experienced, commercial and competent senior engineering leader with an already proven track record in managing change / growth in a constantly evolving manufacturing organisation.  Duties:

• The role holder will develop engineering policies and strategies, including the appraisal and selection of new technologies.
• You will lead the engineering planning process for new projects and products, ensuring effective and successful project delivery.
• Driving manufacturing process development, product launch and continuous improvement activities, the Head of Engineering will drive efficiencies and bring new ideas to further enhance their teams.
• Fostering industrial and academic partnerships, nurturing relationships and exploring collaboration ideas will be a key part of this position.

Person Specification:

• Significant experience in a senior engineering leadership role, managing medium to large teams.
• Proven ability to coordinate complex technical projects through the project life cycle.
• Experience with managing and implementing PDM and other CAD data management systems.
• Strong understanding of Engineering first principles, supported by technical qualifications and practical experience.
• Familiarity with project gateway disciplines and ability to work under process, adhering to associated process disciplines.
• Skilled negotiator with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with customers, suppliers and the entire team.
• Third Level Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Chartered status, or working towards it, with a relevant institution (e.g., IMechE, IET, etc.)
