Your new company

I am engaged on a project to recruit a Head of Engineering to join one of the leading Healthy living brands in the UK. You’ll officially be working in the Financial Services sector with access to excellent benefits and support, leading a cross specialism team for a company which genuinely encourage wellness and have a positive impact on people’s lives.

This role is offered with hybrid with 2 days in one of their main ‘home’ office locations; Bournemouth.


Your new role

This position is a people management positions where 70% of the role will be focused on leadership, you’ll be responsible for implementing and managing the technology roadmap for their business. You’ll work closely with leader from across the business and product teams to compile annual development schedules and develop their strategic ambitions. Within this role you will be required to manage the budgets and resources to deliver on their goals and work with strategic partners who support their development lifecycle.

Their business is evolving and changing over time, and they are keen to develop and enhance their roadmap, you’ll play an integral part in producing and agreeing the technical delivery roadmap, including migrations, decom, upgrades, patching and technical improvements. Ensuring delivery assurance of all system changes, from shaping to warranty.


Overall, you’ll play a critical part in adhering to and improving their code of quality standards and use of SQA, alongside adhering to CISO Standards including Application Security. In order to be successful in the role you will be required to be a clear communicator and someone who can show true leadership in challenging moments.


What you'll need to succeed

We are looking for a strong leader who has prior experiencing managing and leading design and development teams, who can offer guidance and support through excellent written and verbal communication. You will have led teams in development & deployment on-premise as well as across multiple cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud.

You will come with experience in maintaining technical design methodologies, processes and standards across the busiess, demonstrating teamwork by promoting others ideas, influencing others and making teams tick.


It cannot be underestimated how important communication and interpersonal skills are for this hire, working closely with senior stakeholders and across multiple teams within the organisation.
