Head of Engineering – Bristol
Our client is a privately owned manufacturing equipment specialist company in Bristol which, after yet another year of record-breaking turnover and profitability, is preparing for further growth. With a blue-chip client base that has demanding requirements that cover every international market, this new role will play a vital part in leading all aspects of an expanding team of engineers.
Role
The Head of Engineering will provide leadership to the field-based engineers, focusing on working closely with and being seen on the ground by the project teams delivering business critical services to a globally distributed client base that includes, for example, HP, Nexperia and SPTS.
In addition to these direct responsibilities, this role will work closely with Sales, Operations and Finance to ensure everyone is informed about commercial challenges and opportunities.
Whilst the focus of this role will be engineering professionalism and technical leadership, of equal importance will be the recruitment, training and development of the engineering team at all times.
Person
The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in managing varied elements of manufacturing systems and, ideally, with experience of project management within semiconductors, electronics or pharmaceuticals.
This experience will have been gained in a customer-facing role or, possibly a Facilities Management role, in a fast-moving environment where client requirements are technically demanding and can change quickly.
In addition to team leadership experience, you will demonstrate experience in supporting other disciplines including operations, finance and commercial.
