Plan, coordinate and supervise the engineering activities for EDPR’s UK Business Unit of the renewable plants and electrical interconnection infrastructures, in accordance with the investment plan and with the directives of the Engineering and Construction department, in order to ensure the minimization of costs, compliance with deadlines and specifications and standards requirements contributing to optimize the projects and their future commercial operation.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. DEVELOPMENT SUPPORT:
Guide the UK Engineering team in the RfP process, evaluation and selection of the external suppliers (engineering companies) to carry out the concept design, Basic or Building projects as well as the needed field studies or external projects assessment. Ensure the application of the standards, general specifications and quality criteria of EDPR in the realisation of projects and designs of renewable power plants and electrical infrastructure. Define the systems for tracking the relevant information from the projects and reporting to the rest of the organisation. Collaborate and give technical support to Development in matters related to the connection to the electricity network. Coordinate and supervise the realization of the budgets of material execution of the projects, and the control of such costs along the projects execution.
2. SUPPORT IN PROJECT TENDERS:
Assist technically the Purchasing Department in the bidding of the execution of the different projects of the renewable plants, as well as coordinate the team to perform the technical evaluation and tabulation of the received bids in order to ensure the selection of the best final engineering project from the technical point of view.
3. MANAGEMENT OF ENGINEERING PROJECTS EXECUTION:
Organize and lead the team in the simultaneous realisation of all the engineering projects, have a direct perception of the projects, assisting the team when necessary. Report the evolution of the projects to the Engineering EU North management.
4. COORDINATION OF PROJECT TRANSFER FROM ENGINEERING TO CONSTRUCTION AND FINALLY TO OPERATIONS:
Lead the transfer of projects to the Construction Team, in order to optimize the construction start times, guaranteeing the coordination and technical quality in the transfer of the project. Coordinate the evaluation and resolution of the proposed modifications of the final construction project raised in the construction phase, concluding the learned lessons from the project in order to ensure the maintenance of the technical standards of EDPR.
5. OPERATIONAL SUPPORT COORDINATION:
Assure the coordination and service provision, from Operational Support and other Technology teams, of specific key studies needed during the engineering phase for its integration in the project, to minimise the risk associated to the construction process.
6. STANDARDIZATION:
Lead the application of the common standards in the projects, supervising its adaptation to applicable local regulation, in order to avoid non justified deviations and maximize the investment efficiency with all the technical warranty needed. Lead the UK team in the engineering best practices definition and implementation. Challenge Technical Standards applicability and verify and justify deviations from them, in order to assure the technical solvency and the technical-economic efficiency of the projects. Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.
7. TEAM MANAGEMENT:
Direction and leadership of the people in charge, set goals, objectives and responsibilities, define indicators of measurement and evaluation of results, stimulate and motivate people.
8. COMPANY POLICY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE:
Understand and apply policies to prevent occupational hazards, environment and quality to ensure implementation and compliance on tasks under their responsibility.
9. EDPR INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION:
Represent EDPR to agencies and institutions, public and private, in matters relating to its jurisdiction to enforce the interests of EDPR.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION
Qualification:
Master of Science (Industrial Engineering)
A postgraduate in Renewable Energy will be valued
Experience:
At least 15 years of experience in Wind/Solar PV Power Plants and HV infrastructure projects
Experience in technical teams management, construction teams and external contractors and vendors, budgeting and scheduling
Specific requirements:
Wind Farms, PV Plants, High Voltage Lines and Electrical Substations projects
Knowledge of International technical normative
