Head Of Engineering

The Industrial Work Solutions are currently looking to recruit a Head of Engineering for one of their major clients.

Based in Kendal, our client is a leader in their field and is currently undergoing a considerable expansion programme.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for

• The overall management of our on-site Engineering Department and  be accountable for the strategic implementation of the  Engineering Goals within the Business.
• Reporting to the Factory Manager and working closely with key external stakeholders.
• Provide clear leadership and vision, inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them as they develop new skills.
• Drive Key Performance Indicators across all areas of the Engineering department to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environmental issues are prioritised
• Facilitate, direct and drive implementation of business strategy
• Drive Continuous Improvement across all engineering related areas of the business.

Requirements

• Proven leadership and management skills
• Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level 7 qualification.
• Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective engineering strategies, policies, processes and systems.
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of business, interpersonal and professional.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
• Commercially and financially astute with experience of managing budgets.
