This Head of Engineering will oversee a team of c50 engineers and technicians, driving excellence in engineering design, maintenance, and project execution. Reporting directly to the Site Director, this position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the success and safety across all operations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team, ensuring alignment with site objectives and industry best practices.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the engineering organization.
- Lead the development and execution of capital projects, from conception to completion, within scope, budget, and schedule constraints.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, HSE, and other departments to optimize plant performance and reliability.
- Drive innovation and technological advancement within the engineering discipline, leveraging emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Develop and mentor engineering staff, promoting professional growth and succession planning within the organization.
- Maintain compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and corporate policies, including COMAH, ISO, and environmental regulations.
Desired skills & experience:
- You will be a Chartered Engineer or working towards this level of qualification with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering leadership roles within the chemical, petrochemical, or similar process industries.
- Proven track record of success in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of process safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance requirements, including COMAH and relevant industry standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and develop talent, fostering a high-performance culture of continuous learning and improvement.
