Job description

As the Head of English at this fantastic Boys School in Kensington, you will be responsible for developing and implementing an exceptional English curriculum, managing and supporting a team of dedicated teachers, and fostering a love for language and literature among students. We are looking for a visionary leader who can inspire students and staff while promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and management for the English department
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging English curriculum
  • Oversee the professional development of teachers in the English department
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and implementing strategies for improvement
  • Collaborate with other academic leaders to enhance cross-curricular initiatives
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and technology within the department
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding students' academic performance
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in English education

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field
  • Teaching certification and significant experience in teaching English
  • Proven leadership experience, ideally as a Head of English or in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum and assessment practices
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
  • Passion for English education and dedication to academic excellence
