Rubicon People Partnership’s Specialist Sectors Division has been instructed by a thriving family-owned business based in Dorset, to headhunt candidates for the newly created position of Head of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance), as they embark on another stage of significant growth.

This remarkable organisation has experienced substantial growth over the past 12 months, doubling both its headcount and turnover.  With sustainability being at the forefront of everything they do, from what they supply to how they supply it, this innovate business is aiming for Net Zero by 2035.

As the Head of ESG, you’ll report directly into the Chief Operating Officer and play a crucial role in developing, implementing and managing the ESG strategy for the business. You’ll be steer heading the mission to minimise the impact on the environment by working with multiple departments to integrate safe, sustainable and responsible practices into business operations.

As Head of ESG you’ll have ownership for:  

-      Developing and implementing a comprehensive Environmental, Social, Governance strategy within supply chain and the wider business 

-      Collaborating with internal departments to integrate ESG considerations into the decision making process

-      Conducting a comprehensive assessment if the company’s Scope 3 emissions, identifying key sources and developing strategies for reduction  

-      Preparing and publishing regular ESG reports, disclosing key performance indicators and progress towards sustainability goals.

-      Develop and conduct training programs to increase employee awareness of ESG principles and practices.

-      Create a companywide committee which will allow engagement, thought and input to the ESG strategy

The ideal Head of ESG will be able to demonstrate:  

-      Proven experience in ESG management, sustainability or a related field

-      A strong understanding of Environmental, Social, Governance frameworks, standards and reporting requirements  

-      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

-      An analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
