Head of Facilities and Estates

Our client, an forward-looking charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, are recruiting for a Head of Facilities and Estates.

The role is ideal for an ambitious facilities or estates professional, motivated to take the next career step and to make an impact in broad role and as part of a management team committed to continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Estates and Facilities Teams
  • Work with the Director of Commercial Operations to develop the Estate Strategy and  allocate resources to meet objectives.
  • Oversee major projects carried out in-house or by approved contractors
  • Manage and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) alongside a provision of reactive maintenance for the estate and properties
  • Manage third party contractors including the outsourced IT provider, and the organisations vehicle fleet
  • Manage and monitor the estates budgets

About you

Essential
•    Demonstrable experience managing soft services in a multi-site environment
•    A thorough knowledge and experience of relevant current legislation including health and safety, and fire safety
•    Demonstrable knowledge of wide-ranging facilities services
•    Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate teams. 
•    Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, contract negotiation and resource management. 
•    A genuine commitment to sustainability and a proactive approach to ESG initiatives
•    A commitment to ensuring inclusivity and accessibility in all initiatives with sensitivity of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with learning disabilities.

Desirable
•    Demonstrable technical knowledge of wide-ranging hard and soft services
•    Demonstrable experience managing buildings, estates or property management, working in a similar role covering hard and soft services.
•    A thorough knowledge and experience of current legislation affecting property and Estates, including health and safety, fire safety, building compliance, and building regulations 
•    Experience managing capital and maintenance projects.
 

A reduced hours option will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
