Head of Finance, Post Trade Solutions
LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) has a fantastic opportunity for a senior finance professional to partner with a newly created business unit known as Post Trade Solutions.
Post Trade Solutions is one of the core business units of the Post Trade Division, one of the three LSEG business divisions and a significant player in Global financial markets. Post Trade has 2022 income of ~£1bn, Balance Sheet clearing assets of £900 billion and over a Quadrillion of annual cleared notional Interest Rate Swaps. The other three core businesses are LCH Ltd (world's largest clearing house and largest counterparty to most global banks), LCH SA (national French clearing house and a credit institution) and Regulatory Reporting (pan European regulatory reporting service).
Post Trade Solutions is a combination of two internally built businesses and two recently acquired businesses; Acadia and Quantile - focused on bringing capital and collateral efficiencies to the uncleared derivatives market, globally.
The role will have financial responsibility for the business unit, leading a small team of talented finance professionals to partner with business leaders. This is a significant financial leadership role which requires a talented and experienced finance business partner who can work closely with the business leadership to shape their longer-term strategy.
Coupled with a strong financial services background, you will demonstrate strategic intellect and curiosity, combined with maturity, wisdom, and the ability to influence effectively across a large matrixed organisation. A proven finance business partner, you must be able to build strong business partnerships and interpersonal relationships with the confidence to challenge decisions and ways of thinking. You will be an effective collaborator and be comfortable making business recommendations to the Leadership team and the Board.
Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an integral part of the business leadership teams and the divisional Finance leadership team
  • Key role in the construction of Post Trade Solutions, including participating in deal team discussions with potential investors and in setting the governance and operating rhythms
  • Drive strategic decision making with a data and insight driven approach, ensuring it is aligned to wider business and financial strategies
  • Make recommendations concerning strategy, resource allocation, and business operations to drive financial performance.
  • Drive organic investment prioritization and capital allocation with strong return on investment expectations and tracking to drive accountability.
  • Formulate strategic scenarios and modelling of initiatives
  • Maintains a detailed knowledge and understanding of business drivers, bringing thought leadership
  • Challenges and makes recommendations with respect to performance against budget, budget setting and financial viability of new Functional initiatives
  • Lead the development and review of annual budgets, targets and financial forecasts with Finance team.
  • Work with the Finance Centres of Excellence to deliver clear driver-based reporting on all costs and activities of the business divisions
  • Build / develop a team of trusted Finance Business Partners and enable the integration with the broader LSEG finance function
  • Partner with the business leads, corporate development and other corporate function teams to deliver strategically and financially compelling M&A opportunities as they arise

Key Experience:
  • Strong banking/financial services background highly desired
  • Strong commercial acumen and insight
  • Experience integrating businesses and managing through change
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strategic business support and act as a true business partner
  • Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting and risk management.
  • M&A experience
  • Experienced in working in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Experienced People Leader
  • Ability to operate independently/work remotely from supervisor and peers
  • Clear and concise communication style (written and verbal), and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare and deliver financial and strategic presentations to senior management with impact
  • History of providing strategic thought leadership to client base.
  • Recognized accountancy qualification and previous business partnering experience in a key Finance role
