As a Head of service, you’ll spearhead the delivery of reporting, business intelligence, and financial strategy tools in our finance function. You’ll harness the power of data to provide actionable insights, effectively influencing operational activities and shaping organisational decision-making processes.

How you'll make a difference:
As a senior member of the finance team, you will drive a culture of customer centricity and continuous improvement across the finance directorate, ensuring all finance services deliver the best outcomes for our residents
How You'll do it:
- Lead the business intelligence, finance strategy and performance reporting teams
- Be responsible for data product delivery within finance and ensuring high quality products that deliver great user experience and have business impact
- Deliver products in an agile way, fulfilling the company-wide analytics product owner role and driving the scrum teams and project managers to deliver against user feedback
- Be responsible for ensuring enhanced data literacy across finance and developing the skills framework to support our organisation-wide approach
- Collaborate closely with the data, analytics and digital teams to develop best-in-class analytics
- Maintain a proactive outlook, keeping pace with the latest trends in finance and Business
- Collaborate with Financial Planning and analytics and Business Partnering teams to influence operational activities through data-driven insights
- Expertly use Dynamics 365 F&O and Power BI to tell compelling stories through financial data reporting and analytics • Spot potential risks and current issues from thorough and deep performance Analysis and propose and implement solutions, alternatives and fixes to arrest and drive performance
Essential knowledge, experience and skills including qualifications and professional membership:
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, ability to manage complex dynamics - board and director level - translating technical concepts for non-technical audiences
- Good knowledge (Head of service level) of data and analytics that optimise performance and deliver value
- Excellent knowledge of Power BI and other analytics or data tools, technologies, preferably Microsoft, as well as a good understanding of data architecture to the level that you are able to engage with technical staff and data architectures or experts
- Be a confident role model and leader, ensuring you reflect our organisation-wide values
- Mastery of storytelling through data analytics and evidence of influencing operational activities
- Familiarity with analytics solutions and their applications in improving financial management and strategic planning
- CCAB recognised accounting qualification - highly desirable
- Degree in a relevant field such as business analytics, data science, statistics - desirable
