Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity to join SPA Forensic Services at a strategic level, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, and be a key member of the Senior Management Team. You can make a real positive impact across the whole organisation. Two Head of Function roles are available- one permanent role, and one a Fixed Term Contract with a current tenure of March 2025, with a view to potentially extend it. Both vacancies are full time 35 hours across Monday-Friday. This position will be based at the Scottish Crime Campus, Gartcosh.
The Role
You will develop and deliver the overall strategic direction of Forensic Services.
This includes driving forward multi-agency collaboration and ensuring best value use of forensic science to support the investigation and prosecution of crime and the forensic civil contingency provision (Counter Terrorism, CBRN and Disaster Victim Identification) in Scotland.
You will be a strategic lead for forensic science across the business with accountability for service delivery.
