About us:
At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young people whose lives are just too short. Our aim is to reach every family that needs our help and to offer them the very best choice of care. Did you know that every year we need to raise £5m to keep our doors open and only around 20% of our income comes from government sources? The rest has to be raised through fundraising activity.

Our services include short overnight stays and community breaks at home or in the hospice. We also support the whole family from diagnosis with our multi-disciplinary Family Support team who provide counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy and much more. Our care team support these families in our modern, purpose-built building. All our rooms bedrooms have a homely feel. We have a sensory room, spa pool, cinema room and six acres of gardens.

We support families from a large geographical area, including South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire and parts of North Lincolnshire. The hospice is easily accessible from Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster, Sheffield and North Notts. We have free secure on-site parking for families and staff to use.

The role:
At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, valuing and appreciating our amazing supporters is a key focus within the Income Generation team as we recognise the outstanding contribution that our community makes to raising funds. We do this through engaging with our supporters to thank them for their donations and appreciating their efforts and guiding them on their fundraising journey.

We are looking for a unique individual who understand the importance of empathy and strives to nurture relationships which will have a positive impact on our donors throughout their interaction with the hospice. Working as part of our fundraising team you will help to develop and deliver outstanding supporter care and stewardship to our donors continually ensuring that our donors feel supported, maintaining supporter satisfaction and generating the maximum amount of income for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice through these supporter relationships are key to this roles success.

The requirements:

The successful applicant will have experience in customer service, cash handling, data entry and general administration.  They will be a team player, a problem solver and a great communicator and share our enthusiasm for supporter care.  They should have experience of working in a fast-paced and flexible environment.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional organisational skills and a keen eye for attention to detail.  They will be used to handling multiple income streams and processing these accurately within the required time scales.  They will have excellent IT skills and experience of working with databases. They will also have great communication skills and feel confident dealing with our supporters through all mediums – letter, email, telephone and face to face.
