Principal People are delighted to be working with an education provider to search for a Head of Health and Safety on a 9 Month Fixed Term Contract that will help to create an innovative and collaborative approach to health & safety working alongside staff whilst nurturing and developing the existing team of Health, Safety and Fire Advisors.
The organisation we are partnering with are vibrant, forward thinking and have ambitious plans with several up and coming projects. You will be exposed to a diverse range of risks across several different departments within the organisation, primarily working closely with the estates team. The successful Head of Health and Safety will be offered a salary of £60,000-£70,000, depending on the level of experience, plus a competitive package. This is a fantastic opportunity, with a highly reputable education provider, to expand into or grow within Health and Safety in the Education sector.

Head of Health and Safety your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and updating documentation, policies and procedures.
- Manage a team of 3 Health and Safety & fire professionals guiding, nurturing and developing them.
- Conduct and hold meetings with a diverse range of stakeholders from site Health and Safety representatives up to senior management within the organisation.
- Manage and build stakeholder relationships to better the implementation and perception of Health and Safety across the organisation.
- Working collaboratively with different departments across the business to provide support with Health and Safety duties and initiatives.
- Support with the management, updating and implementation of their safety & fire management systems.
- Making sure actions raised from audits and FRAs are progressed, making sure corrective action is taken where needed.
- NEBOSH Diploma or Equivalent.
- Fire Safety Qualifications Level 3 as a minimum, ideally Level 4
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have experience working within an education, property management, facilities management, or local government environment.
