As the Head of HR for Central Functions, you'll be instrumental in driving strategic HR initiatives and fostering collaboration with senior leaders. Your role involves identifying and addressing critical people-related issues, leading divisional change management projects, and championing colleague engagement to create an inclusive and high-performing culture.

You'll leverage data insights to inform succession planning and talent management, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Providing guidance and coaching to divisional teams, you'll promote compliance with legislation and positive employee relations.

Beyond operational tasks, you'll advocate for inclusive practices and uphold company values, collaborating with the wider HR community to maintain robust processes and governance. As a member of the HR leadership team, your input will drive continuous improvement and align HR strategies with business objectives, contributing to overall organisational success.

This role will focus on:


  • As a strategic HR partner to the HR Director, Global IS Director, Finance Director, and Strategic Business Development Director, collaborating with their respective leadership teams you will increase performance and ensure sustained growth, by identifying crucial people-related issues and developing strategic plans and interventions to address them effectively. This entails not only recognising critical issues but also implementing tailored solutions to support the organisation's overarching goals.
  • Take the lead in supporting divisional change management projects and works closely with the business to successfully implement key people initiatives.
  • Drive alignment between HR strategy and business objectives.
  • Champion colleague engagement by collaborating closely with divisional leadership teams and managers to develop action plans and ensure their execution and communication.
  • Analyse workforce and broader data to anticipate and tackle challenges, supporting managers in succession planning and talent management processes to ensure continuity for critical roles and meet the capability requirements of the directorate in the short and long term.
  • Lead talent and succession planning across the Central Function divisions, with a focus on addressing identified capability gaps and identifying development opportunities for key individuals.
  • Provide professional and accurate generalist HR guidance and coaching to divisional teams as needed, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting positive employee relations.
  • Support the development of a high-performance culture by embedding performance and development practices throughout the organisation.
  • Foster a culture of trust through open communication, promoting collaboration and cooperation among teams.
  • Collaborate and contructively challenges divisions to embed inclusive practices, fostering an equitable and inclusive environment that prioritises talent, development, culture, and respect, with a strong emphasis on upholding company values.
  • Proactively working with the wider HR community to ensure robust and aligned HR processes, practices, governance, and oversight are in place, maintaining high standards of compliance and efficiency within the function.
  • Oversee the management of the Senior HR Advisor, Central Functions offering coaching and support to ensure effective performance and development within the team.
  • Serve as an integral member of the HR leadership team, collaborating closely to drive continuous improvements that align HR strategies with business objectives, ultimately contributing to the success of the organisation.

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage day-to-day operations while balancing multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with adaptability to HRIS or similar automated software systems.
  • Advocate for equity and inclusion, with previous experience in promoting inclusive practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters sensitively.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with tactful communication abilities across all levels.
  • Positive energy and a proactive, can-do attitude.

Desirable

  • Strong HR generalist skills including business partnering, reward management, HR analytics, organisational design, employment law, and HR policy.
  • Thorough understanding of employment legislation.
  • HR qualifications, such as CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience.
  • Possession of a project management qualification or relevant project management experience.
