Requirements

Methods is currently recruiting for a Head of Internal IT to join our team on an 18 month fixed term contract . This role will be predominately based in our London office with remote working as feasible.

The main function of this role is to take responsibility for the delivery of service support to all areas across the business.  The individual will be tasked with ensuring service levels are met or exceeded. The Head of Internal IT will also take responsibility for managing and improving IT Service Desk provision, and for managing the 1st Line Support Team.

 As an Head of Internal IT, you will be able to demonstrate a career working in fast paced IT Service Management role. This will incorporate expertise in Incident, Problem & Process Management.  Experience with Microsoft Office 365 cloud services is essential.  Knowledge of ISO 27001 Information Security standard is highly desirable.

 Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage major / significant incidents and act as a final point of escalation
  • Full IT Services Management
  • Project / technical change for IT Services
  • Define IT processes and communicate across the business
  • Manage and maintain IT procedural documentation
  • Manage service improvement projects
  • Manage supplier relationships
  • Demonstrate and adhere to IT governance working within our ISO27001 accreditation
  • Prioritising tasks by importance (focusing on business needs not personal or peer gratification)
  • Managing task assignment to ensure an even spread of skills and experience.
  • Establish and maintain a case/ticket logging process in order to provide an auditable and priority focused toolkit as well as be able to provide management visibility in relation to productivity and efficiency.
  • Full Documentation of IT processes including regular day to day IT tasks.

Security

  • Data security is top priority at Methods; you will need to be proactive in keeping network permissions in check and to oversee/ take part in any data security audits.
  • As and when any additional security certifications are required you will need to be proactive in assisting with this, and Methods will fully support this process as needed.

IT Projects (upgrades, service deployments)

  • Providing regular evaluations of the services the company uses (or could use) to reduce cost and improve productivity.
  • Applying consideration to deployment strategies in planning and communication.
  • Providing leadership and close management to the team throughout IT projects in order to achieve deadlines while limiting interruptions to business as usual.

User Devices (purchase, configuration, repair & retire)

  • Company devices and networks life cycle needs management oversight in order to optimise cost, relevance and usefulness.
  • Ensuring that changes to User Access Rights follow the change control procedure

Compliance Management and Reporting

  • Ensuring all Company data is stored in a secure location.
  • Alerting all users to compliance requirements where any risks are identified
  • Maintaining reporting and documentation for ISO 27001
  • Maintaining the Company list of all Apps and Services in use, including all collaboration, communication and storage resources.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of a working asset register

Training

  • Proactively encouraging the upskilling of the IT team to support the services being used across the company.  Best Practice should be actively encouraged and will ensure adherence to our standards across the team and company.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree Educated in an IT discipline
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 cloud services is essential.
  • Knowledge of ISO 27001 Information Security standard is highly desirable.

This role will require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance. As part of the onboarding process candidates will be asked to complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard; details of the evidence required to apply may be found on the government website (url removed).
